Norwegian – Japanese Partnership Announcement

We are proud to announce our partnership with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) .

IGES was established under an initiative of the Japanese government and with the support of Kanagawa Prefecture. The aim of the Institute is to achieve a new paradigm for civilization and conduct innovative policy development and strategic research for environmental measures, reflecting the results of research into political decisions for realising sustainable development both in the Asia-Pacific region and globally.

The collaboration will contribute to increased value creation for stakeholders at all levels. We see that our activities are complementary and that our organisations are value-aligned, strengthening the interactions between the environments.

"Circular economy (CE) is a new concept in society and an innovation in itself. There are no instructions on how to carry out the CE, and no clear vision of how a modern world functioning with a circular economic system should look like. Defining and shaping the CE is especially difficult for complex systems, such are regions, cities, and communities. However, Circular Regions has mastered the process of designing, implementing and monitoring the CE transition roadmaps by distilling the knowledge of all the stakeholders. They do that by utilizing state-of-the-art knowledge and tools, which will pave steady and solid progress toward the thriving sustainable society we want to become."
Vesna Lavtizar, PhD
Policy Researcher, IGES
"We are excited to be collaborating with IGES, and look forward to collectively implementing practical data-driven solutions compatible with globally adopted frameworks. We have a unique opportunity to break down cultural and linguistic barriers to accelerate the transition to a Circular Economy via a Shared Intelligence for systems awareness."
